New York Loves Connie
Connie was among the featured performers in "Neil Sedaka: 50 Years of Hits" on Friday, October 26 at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. The other performers included the Captain & Tennille, Natalie Cole and Clay Aiken. After Connie sang "Where the Boys Are," the audience went wild. Connie was the ONLY one of Neil's guests who received a standing ovation from the entire audience of nearly 3,000. She also teamed with Neil for "Stupid Cupid." This was Connie's first New York City concert appearance since she headlined at Carnegie Hall in 1993.

Henryk Stawicki Deceased
It is with regret that we report the passing of Henryk Stawicki, the originator of the Connie Francis Fan Club in Poland. Henryk’s daughter told us that her father passed away in February 2007. Henryk was in contact with Connie’s fans all over the world, and some fans may have tried to contact him. He was the only webmaster for his website so anyone who sent an e-mail will not get a reply. We are sorry to bring you this news, but forever grateful to Henryk for his efforts on behalf of Connie and her fans.

Rare Photo of Connie, 1947
Connie's warmth and generosity is well known by her fans. This quality was evident when Connie was a student at the Bergen Street School in Newark, New Jersey. August R. Carnevali sent a newspaper clipping from 1947, showing Connie helping his wife, Marion, at the blackboard. Mr. Carnevali has been married to Marion for 24 years. He could not believe that Marion went to school with Connie, until Marion produced the newspaper clipping from the Star Ledger that she saved all these years. Go here to find out more.

Connie In Newsday
A very favorable letter to the editor about Connie was published in Newsday (New York/Long Island). The newspaper published an article about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and asked why some artists are inducted while others are not. No mention was made of Connie. Go here to see what one fan had to say. The letter was originally titled "Hall of Shame: Connie Was Robbed," but Newsday didn't use that headline.
