Fan Club Message - March 2008

Dear Friends,

At this writing Connie has just returned from the Philippines, where she consented after many requests to visit and do a concert for an audience of 12,000 for her loyal followers in one of her most successful countries. She was happy to meet the lovely people who have supported her for many years, enabling her to reach the No. 1 position several times. She added for this special concert her hits there, “Wishing It Was You,” “High Noon” and in the hits medley “Frankie” and “My Heart Has A Mind Of Its Own.” Connie did not do “Spanish Nights And You,” although she wanted to. She was extremely enthusiastic about going there. We will interview Connie about her trip in a future newsletter. While in the Philippines, Connie received a star on the Araneta Walk of Fame and we have included a lovely photo from this prestigious event.

In keeping with our previous themes, highlighting Connie’s travels throughout the world, we are featuring her proudest moment, her trip to Vietnam in December of 1967. We hope you enjoy these rare pictures we collected and this unusual visit— not a glamorous one, but perhaps one of the most memorable in her career.

Late last year Connie was inducted in the Hit Parade Hall of Fame. This was based on Internet voting and other inductees include Neil Sedaka, Elvis Presely, Frank Sinatra and The Beatles.

Please do try to see Connie on April 12 in Staten Island at the St. George Theatre (718-442-2900) or November 1 in New Jersey at Union County Performing Arts Center (732-499-8226).

Enjoy this newsletter and we hope to see you at some of the future concerts.

Warmest regards,
Pat and Alan
